In 2008, facing bloated telecom costs due to an aggressive acquisition strategy and the recent market sell-off, the firm instituted a company-wide, cost-savings initiative to decrease fixed expenses, including massive layoffs. During the third quarter of 2010, the client issued a mandate for us to assist in the cost-savings program.
Shaheen Solution
During the past three years, Shaheen has helped the client achieve low 8-figures of savings on an ongoing basis from the consolidation of services, reconciliation of inventories, and implementation of new technology, vendor re-negotiation, and removal of duplicate services. Shaheen conducted a comprehensive telecom audit of all major facilities and retail branches in 50 states, including the review of 50,000 circuits, tracked and reconciled MAC orders, and gathered feedback from service delivery and telecom group. We identified over 10,000 inactive voice and data circuits, placed disconnect orders, and worked with carriers to remove related expenses. Total annual savings for this client achieved in 2013 exceeded $10 million. An experienced consultant is vital in removal of services. During 2013, we disconnected 6000 circuits, and our error rate was less than .05%
